Coronavirus Basics

Image
With the spread of coronavirus and increasing hysteria, a lot of fake information has been exchanged on the web. This article aims to explain the basics of coronavirus, such as it's symptoms, how you get it, what it's cure is, and other information. Without any delay, let's dive right into the info. The Symptoms The symptoms of coronavirus can vary based on person and age, but are generally as follows: - Coughing (it is a respiratory infection) - Fever - Tiredness - Difficulty breathing in severe cases The symptoms are a real problem because of how vague they are. You obviously want to limit your exposure to the outside world, and you don't want to go to a hospital with other coronavirus patients for no reason, so make sure you don't have the common flu or cold before going to the hospital. How you get coronavirus While coronavirus started as a zoonotic disease from (it is speculated) either bats or pangolins, I would assume that most of you do not ha...

COVID-19 Fact Check

Claim: President Donald Trump on twitter claims that: " The Radical Left Lamestream Media, together with their partner, the Do Nothing Democrats, are trying to spread a new narrative that President Trump was slow in reacting to Covid 19. " Fact Check: FALSE: The United States, under the order of President Donald Trump, actually instituted it's travel ban more than a month after various other countries had already done so Claim: President Donald Trump on twitter lends credence to the idea that masks are a political statement more than a health related issue Fact Check: FALSE: Face masks have been shown to protect against the spread of COVID-19, due to the blockage of particles in the air. Coronavirus: The Types of Profiteers

Image
With Covid-19 being declared a  public pandemic  by the WHO (World Health Organization), and many countries shutting down borders and instituting quarantines as well as social distancing, I would think many of you have at least heard of Covid-19, if you aren't directly affected by it. With any big new threat, however, there are a lot of profiteers. It happened with the Ebola virus, it happens after hurricanes and natural disasters, and it is currently happening with coronavirus. There are many types of profiteers, and in order to make sure you don't fall into one of these categories, here is a scale of less harmful to more harmful profiteers in the Covid-19 pandemic: I will be talking in depth about all of these people, how dangerous they are, and common categories they fall into. Without further ado, here is the list: Toilet paper hoarders Toilet paper hoarding is apparently something people have been doing due to the coronavirus quarantine. Why? I do not know. Toilet ...

The Trump Administration's Response to Covid-19

Image
In my opinion  the Trump administration's response to coronavirus has been lackluster to say the least. While the response has picked up as of late (posted as of 3/22/2020), it is still not nearly as large or as comprehensive as it should be. It didn't start well either. Here is a timeline of events as well as my opinion on them: Timeline November 17th, 2019 -  First case of coronavirus discovered Too soon for any action from any government December 31st, 2019 -  The coronavirus starts to spread Chinese government response, too soon for any other government January 11th, 2020 -  First confirmed fatality As of now, it was unknown that human to human transmission was possible, so no response January 21st, 2020 -  First case of coronavirus in the United States The Trump administration should have started some sort of response, however small, after this. It is forgivable, though questionable, that there was no response at this point, d...

My Political Views

Image
I lean more left wing , with moderate government control . I am not a socialist , though I do support some "socialist" policies such as free healthcare. My political compass: Coordinates: (-4.5, -5.7) Why: I think my score on the x-axis economic line is accurate, due to me having some "socialist" policies. I do not think my score on the y-axis government power line is accurate. While I do feel that surveillance has gone overboard, I do not believe in limited government involvement. The government should regulate corporations and break up monopolies, just not infringe on people's personal liberties.  Take the test at:  https://www.politicalcompass.org/test Analysis of the score/explanation:  https://www.politicalcompass.org/analysis Feel free to comment and I will try to respond. Please keep everything civil.
